From September 29 to October 1, 2025, the JRP Project held its final in-person training session of the year, hosted by Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. The event brought together national research teams from Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, China, and Australia, marking an inspiring close to this year’s in-person training series.

The Bangkok meeting was not only a space to review the updated codebook and methodological strategies, but also a moment to strengthen the collaborative bonds that underpin the third wave of the Journalistic Role Performance (JRP) Project. The active participation of Asian and Pacific partners underscored the diversity and global scope of the initiative.

Throughout 2025, JRP has organized a series of training sessions across multiple regions of the world, ensuring that all teams are well-prepared for the ambitious comparative study that Wave 3 entails.

With the in-person sessions now completed, the project moves forward to the online training phase, which will ensure that all remaining national teams receive the necessary preparation and guidance before fieldwork begins in 2026.

We warmly thank our hosts at Chulalongkorn University for their hospitality and excellent organization, as well as all participants for their commitment and engagement. Their contributions will be vital as the project enters its next stage.
