The ANID-COVID 0172 grant, "Automatic analysis and monitoring of the role of journalism and the media on different platforms during the phases of the health crisis caused by COVID-19 in nine countries in the Americas, Europe, and Asia", in which different members of the JRP Project participate, conducted an experiment to advance in an artificial intelligence classifier that allows analyzing news in English and Spanish. The applied research process carried out by the Ph.D. student Elizabeth Chicata achieved good levels of automatic classification when it came to distinguishing the topics and specific roles that the JRP research team analyzed in their research. The results appear promising, especially for English texts with efficacy values greater than 0.70 in multiple variables.
